Seven Years of Martital Bliss

Saturday, June 13, was our 7 year wedding anniversary and while not absolute bliss,I would say overall we are both pretty happy with each other. Although I know that we both know exactly how to drive each other batty!! For the evening, we drive to Mobile and my SIL watched the kids while the two of us went on a nice dinner cruise at Bellingrath Gardens.

From the brochure:

"Our cruises at Bellingrath Gardens take you on a pleasant journey down the calm waters of the Fowl River (River of Birds). Enjoy the sounds and sights of osprey, pelicans, blue herons, egrets, seagulls, song birds and migrating species in their natural habitat. The surrounding estuary environment is a mix of fresh artesian well water and salt water, and is home to a diverse populations of plant and wildlife. Complimenting the river's natural environment, are gracious homes and estates that harken back to the days of the romantic south and reflect the rich history of the Civil War. "

We had a great time. I had expected there to only be a handful of people, but the boat had a large business party and then there were a number of couples, like ourselves. And I'm not sure if it was because I was extra hungry or not, but the food was really good. It was catered by Banana Docks Cafe, a local favorite in Mobile.

Looking at the river.

One of the MANY homes I would love to live in!!

A family of osprey's (sorry it's so blurry-they were pretty far away and it was past dusk)

On the way home, Charlie told me that he had a really nice time. I think it turned out better than we expected. So, 7 years are in the books. Time to start working on #8!!!

Happy Anniversary!!! Bliss gets replaced with reality- work, kids and everyday stuff, but at the end of the day, you have each other!
